Suicide Prevention

Recognize the warning signs and help save a life.

Be the one that makes the difference.

Suicide is already the 2nd leading cause of death in the U.S. among people ages 10-34, and LGBTQ teens are consistently found to be at an increased risk of suicide. There is hope and happiness always ahead. It only takes 1 supportive adult to reduce the chance of LGBT youth suicide by 40%.

You can be the one that makes all the difference and everyone has the ability to help. By taking 90 minutes to complete a training, you can help reduce suicidal behavior and inspire hope.

LGBTQ Youth Mental Health

According to Newport Academy, All teenagers are at risk for suicide. But LBGTQ youth suicide rates are higher because their risks are compounded. As The Trevor Project states, ‘LGBTQ youth are not inherently prone to suicide risk because of their sexual orientation or gender identity but rather placed at higher risk because of how they are mistreated and stigmatized in society.’”

45% of LGBTQ youth considered attempting suicide in the past year.

55% of LGBTQ youth experienced symptoms of depression.
