As a California raised queer kid who moved to Rexburg at 18, I wrestled the dissonance of not fitting into a cis-het Mormon mold for over 20 years. I couldn’t figure out why people cared so much about how short my hair was or who I was attracted to! My parents never did, they had always loved me for exactly who I was.

I founded Flourish Point and Rexburg Pride with the goal of carving out spaces where queer folks can feel loved, celebrated, and appreciated for exactly who they are and how they show up.

I am passionate about human rights and mental health. I have a bachelors in nursing and am working on my masters in psychiatric mental health nursing. I enjoy endurance sports and all things dark chocolate.

Treasurer

As a resident of the Rexburg area for more than 20 years, I have seen the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community. I have developed close friendships with many people in the queer community and am dedicated to finding ways to build bridges and create a more welcoming place in Rexburg.

Outside of my work with Flourish, I love spending time with my family and I work as a software developer. In my free time I love participating in the community arts.

Secretary

As a proud member of the queer community and a current social work student, I serve on the board as a voice for students and young people who don’t have the privilege to accept their identities so openly. Born and raised in Idaho, I understand the pressure to conform and the deep challenges of feeling isolated from the community around you. Some of the first times I’ve felt seen for who I am were at local pride events, where I knew I could exist without the fear of being judged, or the isolation that comes with hiding who you are. That sense of safety and belonging is what drives my passion to expand both the feeling and reality of community safety, building more inclusive communities where everyone can thrive and find belonging.

Outside of this role and academics, I enjoy crocheting, reading, and exploring the outdoors through hiking and running.
